Lightsey and Chaffin say vows in Natchez | Local News

Julia Catherine Lightsey and Douglas Bryant Chaffin were united in holy matrimony in a private afternoon ceremony on Saturday, Oct. 4, 2014, at Saint Mary’s Chapel, Laurel Hill Plantation near Natchez, Miss. The enchanting location of the ceremony was kept as a secret from the guests until they were led to the location by the best man. Parents of the couple are Mrs. Robert G. Lightsey and the late Mr. Lightsey of Laurel and Mr. and Mrs. Philip R. Chaffin of Natchez. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. William E. Donald of Louisville, Mr. and Mrs. Johnnie M. Lightsey of Laurel, the late Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Stuart of Woodville, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Philip Chaffin of Sierra Vista, Ariz.

The Rev. David Hagan of Life Church, Laurel, pastor and friend of the couple, performed the ceremony. Violinist David Troutman of Natchez played “In the Presence” during the seating of the mothers. The bride entered during an a capella selection of “Ave Maria” as a special gift for the groom performed by Mr. and Mrs. Landon C. Bryant of Laurel, dearest friends of the bride.
