Emmys: Better Call Saul is the biggest 'snub' in history after losing all 53 nominations

Better Call Saul has made history at the Emmys … by being snubbed multiple times during its whole run despite many nominations.
The TV show, which was a prequel to the much-loved 2000s crime drama Breaking Bad ran for five seasons. It revolves around the character of Saul Goodman, a former con artist turned criminal defense lawyer. Starring Bob Odenkirk, Rhea Seehorn, and Jonathan Banks, the show was nominated for various accolades at the awards show but lost out on all of them. This is despite critical acclaim and winning awards at other esteemed ceremonies such as the Golden Globes and Critics Choice Awards between 2015 and 2022.
Better Call Saul snubbed at the Emmys – again
This year, Better Call Saul was nominated for seven awards at the Emmys, and was snubbed for every single one.
The Netflix series was up for Outstanding Drama Series, Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series for Bob Odenkirk as Saul Goodman, Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for Rhea Seehorn as Kim Wexler, Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series for the episodes Point and Shoot and the finale episode Saul Gon, Outstanding Picture Editing For A Drama Series, and Outstanding Sound Mixing For A Comedy Or Drama Series.

In total, the prequel received a total of 53 nods in its seven-year run, which makes it historic for the ceremony. It’s the most nominations received in Emmys history without picking up any awards.
‘Truly proud’ of the show
Despite the Emmys snub for Better Call Saul, it seems its cast and crew will always hold their work in high regard. Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter ahead of this year’s ceremony, Rhea, 51, said she would love to win but ‘at this point”.
The movie actress explained: “I think at this point, we all truly feel proud of the work we created and [co-creator, finale writer-director] Peter Gould, even if I wasn’t on this show, nailed the final season and the finale and that’s a really hard thing to do.
“I guess I’d be lying if I didn’t say, who doesn’t want to run up on stage and go, ‘Thanks for recognizing our last time out here.’ But I have a feeling we’ll feel that way about our show no matter what.”
Fans are upset the ‘greatest drama series’ lost
Fans have taken to X (formerly Twitter) to express their displeasure at Better Call Saul being snubbed at this year’s Emmys.
Another person penned: “F***ing unbelievable, it deserved it just as much as Breaking Bad did for most of its awards. People who seen it obviously know how great it was, but it’s a shame it was never awarded.”
Someone else said: “That’s so disappointing because this show was even better than Breaking Bad.”
