Galesburg sets community egg hunt
The City of Galesburg Parks and Recreation Department will host the annual community Easter Egg Hunt on Sunday, March 24, at 1 p.m. at Lakeside Recreation Facility.

The event is sponsored by Hy-Vee, 105.3 KFM, and other local businesses. This free event for area youth will feature egg hunts divided by age groups, ages 2-11, with more than 10,000 candy-filled eggs, and a series of grand prizes, including Lakeside Water Park family memberships.

The hunt starts at 1 p.m., but families are encouraged to come early to have their photo taken with the Easter Bunny and enjoy the mobile playground, which will be set up from noon-2 p.m.
The event will take place outside at Lakeside Recreation Facility, 1033 S. Lake Storey Road. Parking is available across the street at 833 S. Lake Storey Road.
Hy-Vee also will offer a grilling station, with hot dogs and chips available for purchase.
In addition to the traditional Easter egg hunt, Galesburg Parks and Recreation is offering an alternative free take-home egg hunt, as well as glow-in-the-dark egg hunt options.
