Meet Annie Starke, Glenn Closes lookalike TV chef daughter: the actress is besties with JFKs g

Per the same source, after several screen tests, Close’s daughter Annie Starke was given the part. Starke’s initial response was a firm “no”, according to an interview she gave to Grumpy magazine, as she thought it would be “weird” to play a younger version of her mother. But in the end the script won her over, and the pair won critical acclaim for the film.
So what else do we know about the Golden Globe winning actress’ only daughter?
Annie Starke is the daughter of Glenn Close and movie producer John Starke

Starke is the 35-year-old daughter of Close, aged 76 – best known for her roles in 80s films Fatal Attraction and Dangerous Liaisons – and Hollywood movie producer John Starke, who’s made films such as Step Up and P.S I Love You.

“I had a profoundly normal childhood,” Annie told People magazine in 2018. “I’m a little boring. I was a barefoot kid, outdoorsy, never had siblings, but I had cats and dogs. I credit my parents for keeping me grounded and keeping it normal.”
Having grown up in suburban New York, Annie still has many of her childhood best friends around her today, per People – including Rumer Willis, daughter of Bruce Willis and Demi Moore. She’s an actor

Starke has said she always knew deep down that she wanted to be an actress, but she secretly hoped she’d pursue a different path after seeing how tough the industry could be through her parents.
“I knew the good and the bad, the crazy and the ugly,” she told Grumpy magazine. But despite studying art history at university, she was quickly drawn back to her true calling, resolving to take acting classes and auditioning for off-Broadway plays.
Acutely aware of her nepo baby privilege, Starke has been careful not to use her connections to get parts. “Especially in this industry, you should be able to stand on your own two feet,” she told Paper magazine. “People tend to have assumptions about you. I knew what I was getting myself into … so I came prepared with guns locked and loaded.”She’s since gone on to star in Netflix’s Ratched, The Wife and We Don’t Belong Here alongside Riley Keough. She’s an animal lover

Per the New York Post, one of Starke’s favourite memories is getting to go on the set of Disney’s 101 Dalmatians’ live action remake, released in 1996, when her mum played Cruella de Vil. Around 200 dogs were present on set. Close told the magazine that Annie didn’t do so well in school that term: “They set up a class there. She learned nothing.”

As Starke grew up in a family of animal lovers, it’s perhaps no surprise that she still loves to be around horses and dogs, and has two Labradors named Hamilton and Big.

She has a controversial godfather

Starke’s godfather is Robert F. Kennedy Jr – JFK’s nephew and the son of Robert F. Kennedy, who was also assassinated. Robert Jr is a long-time friend of Close’s, and his daughter Kathleen, aka “Kick”, is so close to Starke that she was reportedly maid of honour at the latter’s wedding.
However, Robert Jr has courted controversy in recent years for his vehement anti-vax and anti-Semitic views. Strongly opposed to Covid-19 vaccinations, he got into hot water last July for saying that Covid-19 was “ethnically targeted” to spare Ashkenazi Jews and Chinese people, per CNN. He is currently running as an independent in the upcoming US presidential election.
She married Marc Albu at her mum’s house

Starke is married to Mark Albu, vice-president of software company TwinThread. The pair got married in 2018 at Close’s home in Bedford Hills surrounded by family and friends, including fellow actors Rose Byrne and Bobby Cannavale, Rumer and Tallulah Willis, and Robert and Kick Kennedy, according to Brides.
Starke wore a Monique Lhuillier gown and described the wedding’s aesthetic as “country-inspired chic”, per the source.

She lives on a farm in Montana and has her own cooking show
Despite her glam Hollywood career, Starke seems to be content living a more rural life in Montana. Known for its rugged beauty, it couldn’t be further from LA or New York. “My whole family on my mum’s side is there now – we all went rogue,” Starke recently joked to Kelly Clarkson on The Kelly Clarkson Show.Meet Aussie model and actress Pia Whitesell, who married Lauren Sánchez’s ex
A passionate cook and a natural on screen, it’s unsurprising that Starke has been given her own cooking show. Called The Mountain Kitchen, it’s produced by the same team behind The Pioneer Woman and British chef Nigella Lawson’s shows.
“I’m a big grandmother basically, if you come in my house I need to feed you,” she told Clarkson, “And [this show is] kind of a love letter to Montana.”
