Raven-Symon's brother tragically dies just weeks before his birthday

Former Disney star Raven-Symoné has announced the tragic death of her younger brother, who died at the age of 31.

Raven took to her Instagram to thank fans for her birthday wishes as she turned 38 but said that the occasion had been “bittersweet” after her brother, Blaize Pearman, died in November. In the video where she announced the death of her sibling, the Disney star said that her brother had been suffering from colon cancer for two years before his untimely passing. She called it a “roller coaster.”

The celebrity said: “It was a little bittersweet for me to be honest because last month I lost my brother, Blaize. He was battling colon cancer for about two years and he is in a better place now. He’s loved and missed, and the emotions that have been weaving in and out of my body and mind, and my family have been a roller coaster.

“His birthday is December 16 and forever will be,” she said. “I love you, guys. My family on Instagram, my family at home, and my family and friends. You guys have been such an amazing support system and I love you all.”

In the caption, Raven-Symoné penned that she had found it hard to celebrate her birthday knowing that her brother wasn’t there to celebrate with her.

“Thank you the all the love yesterday. It was felt beyond. Hard to fully celebrate knowing that I’m here and he is not. More on Dec 16.”

Fans send their prayers to the family

Following the announcement, famous faces and fans took to her comments to send their love after learning of Raven Symoné’s brother’s death.

Music star Jojo commented: “Raven I am so sorry for your loss. You are such a beautiful soul and I pray you and your family can find tiny moments to smile to feel some semblance of peace in this incredibly painful time. Sending love to you, your family, and anyone who knew and loved your beautiful brother.”

Raven’s Cheetah Girls movie co-star Babrina Bryan wrote: “I am so sorry to hear this news, Raven! You were always such an awesome big sister who loved and adored her baby brother! Sending healing prayers to you and your family during this difficult time.”

One fan said: “Happy birthday beautiful and sorry for your loss.”

Another wrote: “Oh no!! Aww I love you and hope your family is okay,” adding a crying face and red heart emoji.
